7-Up Pound Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c margarine
• 3 c sugar
• 3 c flour sifted
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 c chopped pecans
• 12 c shortening
• 5 eggs
• 7 oz 7-Up soda
• 12 tsp almond flavoring

Directions

1. Cream the margarine shortening and sugar well Add eggs one at
2. a time and beat well Add flour and 7-Up beat well After each addition add vanilla and almond flavoring
3. Grease a 9-inch tube pan Sprinkle pecans over bottom Add mixture Bake 45 minutes at 350 then 35 minutes at 300
4. Let cake cool for 20 minutes Remove carefully from pan leaving cake upside down giving a nice nutty top
