After Dinner Mints

Ingredients

  • 1 unbeaten egg white
  • 1 Tbsp cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 drops oil flavoring
  • food coloring
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp heaping soft butter or shortening

Directions

  1. Combine egg white cream vanilla oil flavoring and coloring Stir well
  2. Add sugar all at once mixing thoroughly
  3. Add more cream if needed
  4. Add butter and more sugar if necessary to make mixture the consistency needed to roll into firm small balls Arrange balls on waxed paper
  5. Press each ball with tines of fork dipped into additional powdered sugar
  6. Let stand overnight to form crust
  7. Put mints into tins with waxed paper between each layer Mints may be frozen and kept for several months
