Anadama Bread
Ingredients
- 12 c yellow cornmeal
- 2 c boiling water
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 12 c molasses
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp dry yeast
- 1 c warm water
- 5 to 5 12 c flour
Directions
- Stir cornmeal slowly into boiling water
- Boil 5 minutes
- Add oil molasses and salt cool When lukewarm add yeast which has been dissolved in the warm water
- Add flour to make stiff dough Knead well
- Let rise until doubled
- Shape into 2 loaves
- Place in greased pans
- Let rise
- Bake at 400 for 15 minutes
- Reduce to 350
- Bake 30 minutes more
