Ingredients

  • 3 c self-rising flour
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 12 tsp soda
  • 1 yeast cake dissolved in 14 c warm water
  • 1 c Crisco
  • 1 Tbsp sugar

Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients
  2. Cut in Crisco
  3. Add milk and yeast to make a stiff dough
  4. Make into biscuits and bake
  5. Store remainder of dough in refrigerator until ready to use
