Angel Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 12 c corn meal yellow or white
  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 12 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp baking soda
  • 12 c oil
  • 2 c buttermilk
  • 2 eggs well beaten

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients together well excluding yeast
  2. Dissolve yeast in 14 cup warm water
  3. Mix together well the dissolved yeast oil and buttermilk with the dry ingredients
  4. Pour batter into a well-greased cornbread stick or muffin pans and bake at 450 for 12 to 15 minutes
  5. Makes 3 dozen
  6. Serve hot or cold
