Angel Food Cake
Ingredients
- 1 c cake flour
- 1 12 c sugar sifted confectioners
- 1 12 c egg whites 12
- 1 12 tsp cream of tartar
- 14 tsp salt
- 1 c sugar white
- 1 12 tsp vanilla
- 12 tsp almond flavoring
Directions
- Heat oven to 350
- Have ready a tube pan
- Stir flour and first amount of sugar together to blend
- Measure egg whites cream of tartar and salt into large mixing bowl
- Beat until foamy Gradually add second amount of sugar 2 tablespoons at a time Continue beating until meringue holds stiff peaks
- Add flavoring Sprinkle sugar-flour mixture over meringue
- Fold in gently until mixed
- Bake in ungreased tube pan for 30 to 35 minutes
- Invert on a funnel to cool
