Anise Cakes

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 c. butter
• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 4 large eggs
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 tsp. almond extract
• 1 tsp. anise oil
• 2 Tbsp. anise seed
• 4 c. flour
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 c. almonds, chopped in blender

Directions

1. Cream butter and sugar; add

4. at a time.
5. Add flavorings
6. plus the anise
7. seed.
8. Sift
9. together
10. the
11. flour, baking powder and salt into a
12. large bread bowl.
13. Make well in center; add the first mixture and mix as for old fashioned tea cakes, incorporating all of the flour.
