AnnieS German Lentil Soup
Ingredients
- 1 c lentils
- 4 strips bacon
- 12 onion chopped
- 18 tsp pepper
- dash of nutmeg
- 1 tsp fresh parsley chopped
- 1 potato
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- 3 to 4 Tbsp tomato sauce or 2 whole tomatoes
- 3 c water
Directions
- Wash lentils in cold water
- Drain
- Now add lentils to cold water
- Saute bacon and onions until golden brown
- Stir in tomato sauce or tomatoes add bacon and onions potatoes and rest of ingredients adding more water as needed during cooking
- Simmer 30 to 45 minutes add parsley
