Apple-Cherry Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 4 tart apples
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 12 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 40 oz can pitted sour red cherries drained
  • 1 17 12 oz pkg puff pastry sheets

Directions

  1. Pare core and slice apples
  2. Add cherries
  3. Mix dry ingredients
  4. Cut puff pastry sheet into 4 squares
  5. Arrange apple-cherry mixture on pastry
  6. Sprinkle with dry ingredients top with dots of butter
  7. Fold pastry to form triangle
  8. Seal edges
  9. Bake at 425 for 20 to 25 minutes
  10. Serve with vanilla ice cream
