Apple-Nut Coffee Cake

Ingredients

• 2 c flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 14 tsp salt
• 1 c sugar
• 1 c shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 c sour cream
• 2 c finely chopped apples
• 12 c chopped nuts
• 12 c packed brown sugar
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 2 Tbsp butter melted
• 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

1. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan
2. Set aside
3. Stir together flour baking powder soda and salt
4. Cream granulated sugar and shortening
5. Beat in eggs and vanilla
6. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately to creamed mixture
7. Fold in apples
8. Spread batter in prepared pan Combine nuts brown sugar and cinnamon and stir in butter
9. Sprinkle evenly over batter and bake in a 350 oven for 35 to 40 minutes
