Apple Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 3 oz cream cheese
  • 14 c firm margarine or butter
  • 2 c Bisquick baking mix
  • 13 c milk
  • Cream Cheese Filling
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 12 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 can 20 oz apple or cherry pie filling
  • 14 c chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425
  2. Cut cream cheese and margarine into baking mix
  3. Stir in milk
  4. Turn dough onto surface dusted with baking mix gently roll in baking mix to coat
  5. Knead lightly 8 to 10 times
  6. Roll into rectangle 12 x 8-inches place on lightly greased cookie sheet
  7. Spread Cream Cheese filling down center of rectangle
  8. Make cut 2 12 inches long at inch intervals on 12 inch side of rectangle
  9. Fold strips over filling overlapping
  10. Mix sugar and cinnamon sprinkle over top
  11. Bake uncovered until golden 12 to 15 minutes
  12. Cool 10 minutes
  13. Carefully place on wire rack cool completely
  14. Spoon pie filling down center of coffee cake
  15. Sprinkle with walnuts
  16. Refrigerate any remaining coffee cake
  17. Yields 4 to 6 servings
