Apple Or Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c self-rising flour
  • 12 c oleomargarine
  • 2 12 c water
  • 2 12 c sugar
  • 12 c shortening
  • 13 c milk
  • 2 12 c chopped apples or peaches
  • cinnamon

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350
  2. Melt oleo in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch cake pan Heat water and sugar in saucepan until sugar melts
  3. Mix flour and shortening until crumbly
  4. Add milk and stir with fork
  5. Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth
  6. Roll dough out into oblong about 14-inch thick
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon
  8. Add fruit on top
  9. Roll up like jelly roll
  10. Dampen edge with water to seal Slice dough into 16 slices 12 inch thick
  11. Place in pan with melted butter
  12. Pour water and sugar syrup carefully around rolls This looks like too much liquid but the crust will absorb it Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
