Apple Or Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
- 1 12 c self-rising flour
- 12 c oleomargarine
- 2 12 c water
- 2 12 c sugar
- 12 c shortening
- 13 c milk
- 2 12 c chopped apples or peaches
- cinnamon
Directions
- Heat oven to 350
- Melt oleo in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch cake pan Heat water and sugar in saucepan until sugar melts
- Mix flour and shortening until crumbly
- Add milk and stir with fork
- Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth
- Roll dough out into oblong about 14-inch thick
- Sprinkle with cinnamon
- Add fruit on top
- Roll up like jelly roll
- Dampen edge with water to seal Slice dough into 16 slices 12 inch thick
- Place in pan with melted butter
- Pour water and sugar syrup carefully around rolls This looks like too much liquid but the crust will absorb it Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
