Apple Torte

Ingredients

• 12 c shortening
• 2 c sugar
• 2 eggs
• 4 c diced apples
• 2 c flour
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 2 tsp soda
• 12 tsp salt
• 12 c nutmeats optional

Directions

1. Cream shortening and sugar
2. Beat in eggs
3. Beat in 1 cup of the apples
4. Add dry ingredients
5. Fold in remaining 3 cups apples and nuts
6. Place in large greased pan such as broiler pan
7. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes
