Apricot Bars

Ingredients

  • 34 c butter or oleo
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c flour
  • 14 tsp baking powder
  • 1 13 c shredded coconut
  • 12 c chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 12 tsp vanilla
  • 1 jar 12 oz apricot preserves

Directions

  1. In large bowl cream butter and sugar Add egg Mix well In separate bowl combine flour and baking powder Gradually add to butter mixture Add coconut nuts and vanilla Mix thoroughly Press 23 of dough into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan Spread with preserves crumble remaining dough over preserves Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown Cool in pan on wire rack Cut into squares Yield 36 bars
