Asparagus Chinese Style

Ingredients

  • 1 12 lb fresh asparagus spears
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 34 c chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp cold water
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 14 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. Snap off the tough stems of asparagus spears
  2. Cut the stalks into 12-inch slices
  3. Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet add garlic salt and asparagus
  4. Saute over moderate heat for 2 minutes
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil
  6. Mix cornstarch water and soy sauce
  7. Add to asparagus stir and bring to a boil again
  8. Stir for 1 minute add pepper and serve at once
  9. Serves 4
