Aunt LettieS Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 3 12 c sifted plain flour
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 23 c sugar
- 8 eggs
- 2 sticks margarine corn oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 c evaporated milk
- 1 tsp lemon flavoring
Directions
- Separate eggs
- Beat egg whites until stiff
- Add 6 tablespoons of sugar gradually
- Put in refrigerator
- Cream butter and add remainder of sugar
- Beat at low speed
- Add 2 egg yolks at a time
- Add milk and flour alternately
- Add flavoring and fold in egg whites
- Pour into greased steeple pan
- Bake 1 34 hours in a 300 oven
