Aunt LettieS Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 12 c sifted plain flour
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 23 c sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 sticks margarine corn oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 c evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp lemon flavoring

Directions

  1. Separate eggs
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff
  3. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar gradually
  4. Put in refrigerator
  5. Cream butter and add remainder of sugar
  6. Beat at low speed
  7. Add 2 egg yolks at a time
  8. Add milk and flour alternately
  9. Add flavoring and fold in egg whites
  10. Pour into greased steeple pan
  11. Bake 1 34 hours in a 300 oven
