Aunt MaudS Poppy Seed Cake

Ingredients
- 1 12 c sugar
- 34 c butter
- 34 c milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 c poppy seed
- 34 c milk
- 2 c flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
Directions
- Soak poppy seed in 34 cup milk overnight
- Sift dry ingredients
- Add shortening and 23 of milk beat well
- Add poppy seed last
- Pour into medium sized tube pan and bake at 375 to 400 for 1 hour
- Ice with fudge frosting
- Serves 12
