Austrian Apple Torte

Ingredients

  • 1 c walnuts chopped not fine
  • 23 c flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 12 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 12 c sugar
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 2 c apples peeled cored and diced use 2 kinds of cooking apples to enhance differences in taste

Directions

  1. Beat eggs until thick
  2. Add sugar to eggs slowly 12 cup at a time
  3. Stir in vanilla
  4. Sift flour baking powder and salt together
  5. Stir in flour mixture 12 at a time
  6. Fold in apples Stir in walnuts
  7. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan
  8. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes
