Bacon Hot Slaw

Ingredients

  • 12 lb bacon
  • 34 c vinegar
  • 14 c water
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 6 c finely shredded cabbage
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Dice bacon and cook slowly until crisp
  2. Pour off half the drippings
  3. Add other ingredients to remaining drippings and heat for 3 minutes stirring constantly until cabbage is hot and well coated with sauce
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste
  5. Cabbage should be crisp
  6. Drain off liquid before serving
  7. Serves 6
