Baked Clams With Walnuts

Ingredients

  • 16 clams on half shell
  • 2 shallots minced
  • 10 walnut halves
  • 14 c parsley
  • 3 Tbsp vermouth white wine or Pernod
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 14 c fresh fine bread crumbs
  • Parmesan cheese freshly grated

Directions

  1. Chop and mash together the shallots walnut halves parsley and vermouth
  2. Knead in butter bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese Spoon topping on each clam
  3. Cover with freshly grated Parmesan best quality
  4. Make a bed of loosely crumpled aluminum foil on a pan
  5. Arrange clams on foil and bake loosely covered with a layer of aluminum foil in a 450 oven for 3 to 5 minutes
  6. When just barely done remove foil and brown close to the broiler
  7. Serves 4
