Banana Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cooked pie crust 10-inch
  • 12 c sugar
  • 5 Tbsp flour
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 2 c milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 12 tsp vanilla
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 12 pt whipping cream

Directions

  1. Combine sugar flour and salt in a double boiler gradually add milk
  2. Cook over boiling water stirring constantly until thickened
  3. Cook for 10 additional minutes
  4. Beat egg yolks
  5. Add a little hot mixture to the eggs beating well
  6. Put remaining eggs in hot mixture beating vigorously cook 1 minute longer Remove from heat
  7. Add butter and vanilla
  8. Cool
  9. Slice bananas on top of cooked pie shell pour cooled mixture over bananas
  10. Top with whipping cream before serving
