Banana Nut Loaf
Ingredients
- 23 c sugar
- 13 c soft shortening
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp buttermilk
- 1 c mashed ripe bananas
- 2 c sifted Martha White self-rising flour
- 14 tsp soda
- 12 c chopped nuts
Directions
- Hat oven to 350
- Grease an 8 12 x 4 12 x 2 12-inch loaf pan
- Mix together thoroughly sugar shortening and eggs
- Stir in buttermilk mashed bananas and flour then soda and fold in chopped nuts
- Turn batter into prepared pan
- Bake 50 to 60 minutes
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes
- Remove and cool completely
