Banana Nut Loaf

Ingredients

  • 23 c sugar
  • 13 c soft shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp buttermilk
  • 1 c mashed ripe bananas
  • 2 c sifted Martha White self-rising flour
  • 14 tsp soda
  • 12 c chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Hat oven to 350
  2. Grease an 8 12 x 4 12 x 2 12-inch loaf pan
  3. Mix together thoroughly sugar shortening and eggs
  4. Stir in buttermilk mashed bananas and flour then soda and fold in chopped nuts
  5. Turn batter into prepared pan
  6. Bake 50 to 60 minutes
  7. Cool in pans for 10 minutes
  8. Remove and cool completely
