Banana Toffee Pie
Ingredients
- 1 9-inch prebaked pie shell
- 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- Cool Whip
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 bananas
Directions
- Using a very heavy pan or skillet melt margarine over low heat
- Add sugar and stir with a wooden spoon until the sugar dissolves
- Add the condensed milk and bring to a boil over medium to low heat stirring constantly
- The mixture burns very easily When mixture begins to bubble turn heat to low but maintain boil Boil stirring carefully for 5 minutes
- Remove from heat at once
- Allow mixture to cool to room temperature stirring occasionally
- Slice 3 bananas arrange in bottom of pie shell Pour cooled toffee mixture over them
- Place pie in refrigerator until cool
- Spread Cool Whip over top of pie
- Decorate with slices of remaining bananas
