Basic Bread Batter

Ingredients

• 1 c sugar
• 4 Tbsp shortening
• 1 c milk
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 c flour
• 3 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt

Directions

1. Cream sugar with shortening
2. Add milk egg and vanilla extract beat well
3. Add mixture of flour baking powder and salt Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan and bake in 350 oven for 45 to 50 minutes
