Basic Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 4 c bread cubes lightly packed into cup 4 to 5 slices
- 12 c brown sugar packed
- 12 tsp nutmeg
- 14 tsp salt
- 12 c raisins optional
- 2 c milk
- 14 c butter
- 2 eggs beaten
Directions
- Spread bread cubes evenly in 8-inch round dish
- Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar nutmeg salt then raisins
- Measure milk into 1-quart measuring cup
- Add butter
- Microwave at High for 4 minutes until butter is melted and milk is warm
- Rapidly stir in eggs with a fork and mix well
- Pour over bread cubes in dish Microwave a Medium-high for 9 to 12 minutes
- When cooked center may still be slightly soft but it will set up as pudding cools Serve warm or chilled
- Makes 6 servings
