Basic Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 13 c olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 28 oz can whole plum tomatoes
- 6 to 10 chopped fresh basil leaves or 1 Tbsp dried
- 12 tsp oregano
- 13 c minced Italian parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 tsp crushed red pepper
- 34 c dry white wine
Directions
- Heat olive oil in deep 12-inch skillet and saute garlic until tender but do not burn
- Cut tomatoes into small chunks and add to skillet Add basil oregano parsley salt and pepper and bring to a low boil for 3 minutes
- Add wine and cook on moderate heat for 15 minutes Remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes Serve over 1 pound of pasta
