Basic Yeast Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 14 c lukewarm water
- 12 c scalded milk
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 34 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp melted butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 2 12 c all-purpose flour
Directions
- Dissolve dry yeast in lukewarm water according to directions on package
- Add milk which has been cooled to lukewarm sugar and salt
- Allow to stand 5 minutes
- Add butter or margarine and egg mix well
- Stir in flour and beat with spoon until dough forms a ball and follows spoon around the bowl
- Brush top of dough with melted butter
- Cover with wax paper or towel
- Let rise to double in bulk
- Turn out on floured board and knead
- Shape or cut let rise in biscuit pan
- Bake at 400 for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown
