Batter White Bread
Ingredients
- 2 pkg active dry yeast
- 6 12 c all-purpose flour
- 2 34 c warm water
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 3 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp soft shortening
Directions
- In large mixing bowl sprinkle yeast into water let stand a few minutes then stir until dissolved
- Add 3 14 cups flour sugar salt and shortening
- Blend at low speed then beat 2 minutes at medium speed or beat by hand
- Beat remaining flour in by hand Cover and let rise until doubled about 45 minutes
- Stir batter beating hard 12 minute
- Spread in 2 greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans
- Let rise until doubled about 20 minutes
- Bake in moderate oven at 375 for 40 to 50 minutes
