Beef Bourdelais

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp margarine
  • 3 lb sirloin tip cut for stew
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 14 tsp thyme
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 10 oz beef bouillon or broth
  • 10 oz red wine

Directions

  1. Braise beef in margarine
  2. Add onion
  3. Mix flour and seasonings and add to beef
  4. Pour in bouillon and wine and scrape pan well
  5. Cover tightly and bake at 325 for 4 hours
  6. Serve over egg noodles or rice pilaf
