Beef Roast And Noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 3 to 3 12 lb beef chuck pot roast
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp instant beef bouillon granules
  • dash of garlic powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 large onions sliced 2 c
  • 12 c catsup
  • 13 c packed brown sugar
  • 14 c lemon juice
  • 12 c raisins
  • hot cooked noodles

Directions

  1. Trim excess fat from meat reserve trimmings
  2. Coat meat with flour
  3. In a 4 12-quart Dutch oven heat trimmings until about 2 tablespoons of fat accumulate
  4. Discard trimmings
  5. Brown meat on both sides in hot fat
  6. Add bouillon granules and 1 14 cups hot water
  7. Sprinkle with garlic powder
  8. Add bay leaves
  9. Place onions atop and around meat
  10. Cover bake in 325 oven for 1 12 hours Remove bay leaves discard
  11. Stir together catsup brown sugar and lemon juice
  12. Pour over meat
  13. Sprinkle with raisins
  14. Cover continue baking 30 to 45 minutes more or until meat is tender Serve with hot cooked noodles
  15. Serves 8 to 10
