Beef Stir-Fry With Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef top round steak
  • 13 c cold water
  • 14 c soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp dry red wine
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp molasses or honey
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms sliced 3 c
  • 5 green onions bias-sliced into 1-inch lengths 1 c
  • hot cooked rice

Directions

  1. Partially freeze beef cut on the bias into thin bite-size strips
  2. For marinade in a medium mixing bowl stir together water soy sauce wine cornstarch and molasses
  3. Add beef stirring to coat well
  4. Cover and marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes or in the refrigerator for 2 hours stirring occasionally
  5. Drain well reserving marinade
  6. Set aside
