Ingredients
- 2 34 to 3 14 c flour
- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 1 c milk
- 14 c sugar
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 12 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- powdered sugar to sift on top
- shortening for frying
Directions
- In large bowl stir together 1 12 cups flour and yeast
- In saucepan heat milk sugar shortening and salt to 115 to 120 Stir constantly
- Add heated mixture to flour mixture add egg Beat with electric mixer on low 12 minute
- Beat 3 minutes on high
- Use spoon and stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough
- Place dough in greased bowl turn once to grease surface Cover and refrigerate dough until chilled
- Chill overnight and fry for breakfast
