Ingredients

  • 14 lb butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp anise extract
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Cream butter and sugar
  3. Add eggs and anise extract blend thoroughly
  4. Sift flour baking powder and salt
  5. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture blend well
  6. Divide batter in half place on greased cookie sheet in 2 freeform loaf shapes
  7. Bake until golden 15 to 20 minutes
  8. Remove from oven cut in 1-inch slices to make cookies
  9. Place cookies back on cookie sheet side down
  10. Return to oven to brown slightly 5 to 7 minutes
  11. Yields approximately 3 dozen
