Ingredients
- 14 lb butter
- 1 c sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp anise extract
- 2 c flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 14 tsp salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add eggs and anise extract blend thoroughly
- Sift flour baking powder and salt
- Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture blend well
- Divide batter in half place on greased cookie sheet in 2 freeform loaf shapes
- Bake until golden 15 to 20 minutes
- Remove from oven cut in 1-inch slices to make cookies
- Place cookies back on cookie sheet side down
- Return to oven to brown slightly 5 to 7 minutes
- Yields approximately 3 dozen
