Black Bean Soup
Ingredients
- 1 c black beans
- 1 12 qt water
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 carrot chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 c beef broth
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 to 2 Tbsp sherry wine
- slice of lemon
Directions
- Soak the beans overnight drain
- Add the water
- Add the cloves bay leaf garlic celery carrot and onion
- Cook slowly for 3 hours
- Mash beans
- Add the beef broth
- Combine the flour and melted butter add to soup
- Add the sherry wine to taste Adjust seasoning
- Serve with slice of lemon
