Boiled Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 c sugar
  • 13 c water
  • 1 Tbsp light corn syrup
  • 18 tsp salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Combine sugar water syrup and salt in saucepan
  2. Stir
  3. Boil slowly without stirring until mixture will spin a long thread when a little is dropped from spoon hold spoon high above saucepan 238 to 242
  4. In mixing bowl beat whites until stiff about 2 12 minutes
  5. Pour hot syrup slowly over egg whites while beating Continue beating until mixture is fluffy and will hold its shape Add vanilla
  6. Blend
  7. Spread on cake
