Boiled Raisin Cake
Ingredients
- 1 12 c brown sugar
- 1 12 c seeded raisins
- 1 12 c water
- 13 c shortening
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 14 tsp nutmeg
- 14 tsp cloves
- salt
- 2 14 c flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 12 tsp baking powder
Directions
- Boil together 3 minutes the first 8 ingredients
- Cool
- Sift together the remaining ingredients
- Add to first part and bake Can be used at holiday time for fruit cake
- Improves with time Can be made ahead to season
