BonnieS Orange Cake

Ingredients

• 1 12 c sugar
• 34 c shortening
• 3 eggs
• grated rind of 2 oranges
• 3 c sifted flour
• 1 12 c chopped dates mixed with a little flour
• 1 c chopped pecans
• 1 12 tsp soda dissolved in 1 c sour milk

Directions

1. To the strained juice of 2 oranges add 1 cup sugar and let stand while making cake
