Boston Baked Beans
Ingredients
- 1 lb dried pea beans
- 2 medium onions
- 12 c brown sugar
- 12 c molasses
- 13 c ketchup
- 14 lb bacon diced
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 12 tsp dry mustard
- 14 tsp pepper
Directions
- Simmer beans in 6 cups of water for 1 hour
- Allow to stand covered for 2 hours or until softened
- Drain
- Put all ingredients in a crock-pot
- Add 1 cup of water
- Stir to blend Cover pot and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high 5 to 6 hours
- Stir occasionally
- Makes 8 to 10 servings
