Brisket Of Beef And Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3 lb first cut brisket of beef
  • garlic powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1 to 2 c water
  • 4 large all-purpose potatoes peeled and quartered
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Generously season meat with garlic powder and salt
  2. Place in open roasting pan and bake 12 hour in 500 oven
  3. Remove from oven Lower oven temperature to 350
  4. Add onions and water to cover bottom of pan
  5. Cover and return to oven for 12 hour
  6. Add potatoes to pan and pour tomato sauce and 12 can of water over meat and potatoes
  7. Cover and cook 2 hours
  8. Turn potatoes once and spoon gravy over all
  9. Meat should be tender
  10. Allow to cool before serving
