Broiled Coconut Topping

Ingredients

  • 14 c soft butter or margarine
  • 14 c light cream or evaporated milk undiluted
  • 12 c light brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1 c flaked or shredded coconut

Directions

  1. In small bowl combine all ingredients
  2. Spread evenly over top of hot 8-inch or 9-inch square cake
  3. Run under broiler 4 inches from heat 2 to 3 minutes or until topping is bubbly and golden
  4. Cool cake in pan on wire rack serve slightly warm
