Butter Crunch Toffee

Ingredients
- 1 c butter
- 1 13 c sugar
- 1 Tbsp white syrup
- 3 Tbsp water
- 12 c chopped nuts
- 1 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
Directions
- Melt butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan
- Add sugar
- Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves
- Add water and syrup
- Cook over medium heat stirring often to soft ball stage 290 about 12 minutes
- Watch carefully after reaching 280
- Remove from heat
- Quickly stir in nuts and spread on a buttered baking sheet Cool thoroughly
- Melt chocolate chips
- Spread 12 on one side of toffee and sprinkle with nuts
- Cool
- Turn candy over and spread remaining melted chocolate on other side
- Cool
- Break into pieces
