Butter Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 14 c warm water
  • 1 c milk scalded
  • 14 c shortening
  • 14 c sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 14 to 3 12 c flour
  • 1 beaten egg

Directions

  1. Soften yeast in warm water
  2. Combine hot milk shortening sugar and salt cool to lukewarm
  3. Add 1 cup flour beat well Beat in softened yeast and egg
  4. Gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough beating well
  5. Brush lightly with soft shortening
  6. Cover let rise in warm place until double about 1 12 to 2 hours
  7. Divide dough in half then divide each half into about 12 equal pieces
  8. Place in greased muffin pans
  9. Cover and let rise in warm place until double
  10. Bake at 375 until brown about 20 minutes
