Buttercream Icing

Ingredients
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 12 c vegetable shortening
- 18 tsp salt
- 1 12 tsp vanilla
- 5 c confectioners sugar
- 14 c and 3 Tbsp milk
Directions
- Cream butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer
- Add vanilla and salt
- Gradually add sugar one cup at a time beating well at medium speed after each addition Scrape bottom and sides of bowl often
- When all sugar has been added icing will appear dry
- Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy
- Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until youre ready to decorate
