Butterflied Bayou Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium shrimp uncooked
  • 14 c butter
  • 14 c vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 bay leaf crumbled
  • 1 garlic glove crushed
  • 14 tsp dried basil
  • 14 tsp dried rosemary
  • 12 tsp paprika
  • 12 tsp crushed dried red peppers

Directions

  1. Butterfly shrimp do not remove shell
  2. In a large skillet melt butter add shrimp
  3. Saute 3 to 4 minutes until shrimp begins to turn pink
  4. Add remaining ingredients simmer over low heat 3 to 4 minutes stirring occasionally
  5. Cover and let stand about 5 minutes
  6. Spoon shrimp and sauce into a large serving bowl
