Buttermilk Cookies

Ingredients

• 2 c sugar
• 1 c shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 c buttermilk
• 1 tsp vanilla
• grated rind of 1 orange
• 4 12 c all-purpose flour divided
• 1 tsp salt less
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 12 tsp nutmeg

Directions

1. Cream together the sugar and shortening
2. Add and beat in eggs buttermilk vanilla and orange rind
3. Add 3 cups flour sifted with salt baking powder and nutmeg
4. Stir in remaining 1 12 cups flour
5. Chill before rolling out
6. Roll cut and sprinkle with sugar
7. Bake at 375 until lightly browned
