Buttermilk Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 12 large compressed yeast
- 14 c sugar
- 2 c buttermilk
- 12 c soft butter or part shortening
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 tsp soda
- 2 eggs
- 5 or 6 c flour
Directions
- Add crumbled yeast and sugar to lukewarm buttermilk
- Let stand 10 minutes
- Add melted butter salt and soda
- Beat well and add half the flour and unbeaten eggs
- Beat well
- Add remaining flour to make a stiff dough
- Let rise until double in bulk
- Shape in rolls
- Let rise again
- Grease muffin pans good Bake at 325 for 20 minutes
