Butterscotch Date Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 12 c plain flour
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 12 c firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 12 c butter
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 c chopped dates
  • 12 tsp baking powder
  • 23 c chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350
  2. Grease cookie sheet
  3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup level off
  4. Combine all ingredients except dates and nuts in a large bowl
  5. Blend at low speed until moistened
  6. Beat 1 minute on medium speed
  7. By hand stir in dates and nuts
  8. Drop by rounded teaspoonful 2 inches apart on cookie sheet
  9. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown
  10. Cool 1 minute
  11. Remove from sheet and frost cookies
