Camp Beans
Ingredients
- 1 lb dried pinto beans
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 16 oz can tomatoes
- 4 oz ham chunks
- 1 green bell pepper chopped
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 12 tsp dry mustard
- 14 tsp oregano
- 1 12 tsp brown sugar
Directions
- Soak beans in water to cover in soup pot overnight
- Drain rinse
- Add water to cover onion garlic bay leaves and chicken bouillon
- Simmer over low heat for 1 12 hours stirring occasionally
- Add tomatoes green pepper seasonings ham chunks and brown sugar
- Remove bay leaves before serving
