Candied Yams

Ingredients

  • 5 medium sweet potatoes
  • 14 c water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 Tbsp syrup
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 14 stick margarine

Directions

  1. Boil potatoes until half done peel cut and place in baking dish
  2. Combine sugar water syrup and margarine cook over low heat until it forms soft ball when dropped into cold water
  3. Add lemon juice pour over potatoes and sprinkle with nutmeg
  4. Place in 450 oven cook for about 1 hour basting potatoes with syrup
