Caramel Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 34 c oleo softened
  • 1 pkg 6 oz chocolate bits
  • 23 c evaporated milk
  • 1 pkg 14 oz caramels
  • 1 pkg pecans or walnuts

Directions

  1. Mix cake mix with 13 cup evaporated milk and oleo
  2. The dough will be stiff
  3. Melt unwrapped caramels with other 13 cup milk until smooth
  4. Spread half of batter in rectangle baking pan with fingers in a greased pan
  5. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes
  6. Remove from oven sprinkle chocolate chips over baked batter and pour melted caramel over that layer
  7. Add nuts
  8. Drop remaining batter on this It will look strange
  9. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes
  10. No longer Dough may not look done but thats due to the melted caramels Let it cool for a few minutes and then loosen around pan edges Wait about an hour before cutting into squares
